Interest list registrationWhen you register interest in Jalila Hotel, we collect your first name and email address. We use this to send you updates about our opening, and — if you choose to proceed — to offer you access to our Founding Guest programme. Our lawful basis is your consent, given when you submit the form.
Booking enquiries and reservationsWhen you make a booking enquiry or reservation, we collect your name, email address, phone number, nationality, arrival and departure dates, and any preferences or requirements you share with us. We use this to fulfil your reservation and provide your stay. Our lawful basis is contract performance — we need this information to deliver the service you have booked.
WhatsApp communicationIf you contact us via WhatsApp, we receive your name and phone number as provided by WhatsApp, along with the content of your messages. We use this to respond to your enquiries and to coordinate your stay. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — responding to a guest or prospective guest who has initiated contact with us.
Website analyticsWe may use privacy-focused analytics tools to understand how people use our website. If we do, we will not use tools that set tracking cookies without consent, and we will update this policy to specify which tools we use.
CookiesOur website uses only essential cookies required for the site to function. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or third-party marketing cookies. If this changes, we will ask for your consent before setting any non-essential cookies.
We do not ask you to provide sensitive personal data (such as health information, dietary requirements related to medical conditions, or information about disability). Interest list registrations: We keep your name and email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you. If Jalila Hotel does not open, we will delete all interest list data within 30 days of that decision.
Booking records: We keep booking records for seven years after your stay, as required for financial and legal compliance purposes.
WhatsApp messages: We retain these for a reasonable period in case we need to refer back to arrangements made during your stay. We do not retain WhatsApp communications indefinitely.
We share your data only where necessary:
Webflow (our website platform) processes data on our behalf as a data processor. Webflow is GDPR-compliant and operates under standard contractual clauses for international transfers.
Email service provider (to be confirmed — Mailchimp / Brevo / similar): if we use an email platform to send our interest list communications, we will name it here and confirm its compliance status.
Payment processors: Once we integrate online payment (through Beds24, Cloudbeds, or similar), your payment data will be handled by that provider under their own privacy terms. We do not store credit card or bank details ourselves.
Egyptian authorities: We may be required by Egyptian law to share guest registration information (name, nationality, passport details) with local authorities. This is a legal obligation, not a choice.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertising networks. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Jalila Hotel is based in Egypt. If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), your data will be transferred to and processed in Egypt, which is not currently recognised by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection.
Where we use third-party tools that are GDPR-compliant (such as Webflow), your data may also be transferred to the United States or other countries. In these cases, transfers are covered by standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms approved under GDPR.
